Troubleshooting Installatron errors
Sometimes Installatron will return a PHP error stating that it is unable to install your script. These are some of the potential causes and their respective solutions.
The .htaccess may be misconfigured
You likely have a .htaccess in your public_html folder (or possibly even above that) which is redirecting all requests for files and directories into another application already installed. Additionally, it could be because you have a PHP flag in your .htaccess that could be incompatible with our system configuration.
Temporarily rename that .htaccess to .htaccess1 and try again. This will instantly tell you if it’s something in your .htaccess causing the issue.
Your file and/or folder permissions are too low
The permissions on your files and folders could be set too low for a website. If you would like to reset your permissions, you can use the VIPcontrol permissions fixer.
- Log in to VIPcontrol.
- Click the My Services link on the top → Hosting from the tabs underneath.
- Click the Manage button for the service that you are trying to fix.
- Select the Permissions Fixer option under Security on the left side.
- Hit Reset to run the fixer.
