Rebooting a Virtual Private Server (VPS)
In the unlikely event you’re unable to manage your VPS at all (SSH, Console and your control panel are down), then you may need to power cycle (restart) it.
We recommend checking console first and noting down any errors which have been logged prior to issuing the restart command.
How do I reboot my VPS?
- Log to VIPcontrol.
- Click on the My Services option on the top of the page > VPS from the menu below.
- Hit the Manage button for the VPS that you wish to reboot.
- Select the Power Management option under the Manage area on the left.
- Click on the Manage button > choose Reboot Server > Confirm.
Once the command has been issued, please allow 5-10 minutes for the service to return. You can check it’s reboot progress via console.
